Understanding Coffee – From Bean to Cup
- Where does the coffee we drink come from?
Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world, yet few people know its fascinating journey. It comes from the seeds of a fruit called the coffee cherry, grown in tropical regions between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn: Latin America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia.
At Caféino, we select our beans from countries renowned for the richness of their terroirs: Ethiopia, Brazil, Colombia, Vietnam…
- The Two Main Varieties: Arabica and Robusta
- Arabica: more delicate, aromatic, and less bitter. Grown at high altitudes, it offers a complex flavor profile (floral, fruity, chocolatey notes).
- Robusta: stronger, more bitter, with higher caffeine content. It adds strength to blends and is often used in espresso.
Caféino blends are crafted to balance intensity and finesse to suit every preference.
- Roasting: A Key Step
Roasting is the art of heating coffee beans to reveal their aromas.
- A light roast highlights acidity and fruity notes
- A dark roast delivers a more intense coffee with roasted and chocolatey flavors
At Caféino, all our coffees are roasted in Italy, following a rigorous artisanal process to ensure quality, consistency, and freshness.
- How to Choose Your Coffee
For a mild filter coffee: go for 100% Arabica For an intense espresso: an Arabica/Robusta blend is ideal For a gourmet coffee: pair it with vanilla, hazelnut, or caramel syrup
Tip: Choose whole bean coffee for maximum freshness. It keeps better and allows you to grind it on demand.
Coffee is a rich world worth exploring. At Caféino, our mission is to offer you carefully selected coffees, roasted with passion, to give you an authentic coffee experience — whether you're a beginner or a coffee lover.
